Two Brides, One Thought

Chapters 23&24.
Abraham’s beautiful bride of over 110 years dies and he buries her in a choice location, purchased at a handsome price. He willingly paid whatever it would cost to lay her body to rest because of his great love for her. Isaac’s new bride did not come without a payment. She was sought to be a bride from among the brethren. Not to be from a strange, unequally yoked background, but one who would be spiritually matched. The price paid would be great, but does not compare to the value of the bride.

Within these two chapters we can draw a heavenly truth in that the Father sends the Helper (Holy Spirit) to invite the bride to receive his Son.  She would be son’s bride under his love and protection, only if she says yes and receives him immediately, without delay. The price had already been paid. Eventually when they meet at the father’s house they are united as bride and groom. We note that a price was paid in full for a bride’s life. A price was paid in full for the bride’s place of rest. This is what happens when we say yes to the offer of being in a relationship with Jesus. We become His bride under his love and protection, being nourished and cherished, and washed by the water of the word; forever His onto that place of rest.

If you’ve never accepted that invitation, today is a great day to accept and receive.  If you have already accepted, then continue in the Love of the One who has purchased you with His life, paid in full.

1 Corinthians 6:20
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
